Frequently Asked Questions

Below are our most frequently asked questions. If you need further assistance, please give our office a call so we can help!

What are fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable substances used to add volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial features.

How long does lip filler last?

This depends on the type of filler and individual factors. For most patients, it will take one to three sessions to achieve desired volume. Typically maintenance will be at 6-9 months the first year of filler, 9-12 months the second, 12+ months after that. All filler lasts much longer than initially thought. Maintenance should be based on evaluation of need by your well trained injector, not a date on the calendar.

How much does filler cost?

The cost varies and is very dependent on your specific needs. We can give you a better estimate after a personalized consultation.

Do fillers ruin your face?

When done correctly by a well-trained medical professional, fillers do not ruin your face. However, overuse or poor technique can lead to undesired results.

Does lip filler hurt?

Some discomfort is common, but at ARX, all lip filler appointments get injectable and topical numbing for a more comfortable experience. Most patients rate pain from 0-3 out of 10 (10 being the worst pain) with our numbing technique.

Can filler be dissolved?

Yes, we can dissolve filler if necessary.

What is Daxxify?

It contains a formulation of botulinum toxin type A, which temporarily relaxes facial muscles to reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles. Daxxify begins working much faster than other products on the market and is usually almost totally set in by day 3 or 4. It is a great choice if you are short on time and need to look great for an event.

How long does Dysport or Botox or Daxxify last?

With consistent treatment, most patients are treated 3 times per year. Dysport results typically last 3–4 months. Botox results typically last 3 months. Daxxify lasts from 3-6 months.

How long does Dysport take to work?

Initial effects may be seen within 2–3 days, with full results seen at 14 days.

How long does Botox take to work?

Botox begins to show effects within 3–5 days, with full results appearing within 14 days.

How many units of Dysport or Botox for my forehead, frown lines or crows feet?

This varies greatly for each patient. The best answer can be given after a consultation and personal assessment by a well-trained injector.

Is Dysport better than Botox?

Both are effective, but Dysport may work faster and last longer when used consistently.

Is Botox safe? Is Dysport safe? Is Daxxify safe?

When administered by a qualified professional, Botox, Dysport and Daxxify are generally safe. However, improper use or overuse can lead to side effects. Certain medical conditions may exclude a person from treatment.

Can Botox/Dysport/Daxxify be dissolved?

No, they cannot which is why it is important to go to an experienced provider who can give you realistic expectations. If for some reason, you do not like a treatment, your muscles return to baseline at 3-4 months on their own.
