Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is obtained by drawing your own blood and separating it in a way that allows the portion containing platelets (which release growth factors), white blood cells, and a small amount of mesenchymal stem cells to be separated from the rest of the blood. PRF is superior to its well known cousin PRP, because it contains more of the important cells, it has no chemical additives, and the fibrin clot keeps everything where it needs to be for a longer and slower release of the growth factors, which leads to collagen production and tissue regeneration.
